Screen Brightness is there an easy way?

i don't care for the power manager only because the granularity of where you can set the brightness kind of sucks. for a simple brightness widget, check out "Brightness Level" by Curve Fish. Just a widget that pops up 0/25/50/75/100% buttons along with a slider.

The default Auto Brightness setting hasnt let me down yet. It Automatically adjusts your screen to the environment.

Thanks. :) I didn't realize I could do that.

Now, having set it to auto, it looks like they set it a little brighter than I normally would. I assume there's not a way to set the brightness level relative to the ambient brightness? I'll try it this way a while and see what the effect on battery use is. I normally have it way down most of the time, but it's a pain to turn on the phone, unlock with the pattern swipe, switch to the page on which I keep the power strip widget and reset the brightness, all without being able to see anything on the screen.

I still think you should try quick settings. I set mine to run in the notification bar, without an icon, so i can pull down and change settings without having to interrupt what I'm doing.

Thanks, I'll look into that. Question though: given that my biggest problem is being able to see the screen in bright ambient light well enough to navigate to turn up the brightness, do you think I'll be able to unlock, pull down the notification bar and change settings that way more easily than what I have been doing?

Thanks again,
-Scott

I think you'll find it's similar to change the screen brightness, and it gives you a lot more options than the widget and doesn't take up home screen real estate.
