Help Screen brightness setting

Anyone else having an issue with the camera app messing up the screen brightness setting?

I keep my display brightness on Auto. But everytime after using the camera, the Auto brightness checkbox becomes unchecked and the slider is mysteriously set to maximum.

I'm on 2.3.3.

I've also noticed that the camera app changes the brightness settings on my phone. I don't use auto-brightness and actually have a widget that allows me to cycle through 3 different brightness levels. I just use the widget as I find the auto-brightness hardly ever sets the screen brightness to the setting that I want in a particular lighting condition.

I'm ok with auto-brightness. But thanks for the widget idea. Found an app to toggle the auto-brightness on and off with a tap of the app's icon.

The camera does set the brightness to max but for me after closing the camera, the brightness returns to its previous value.
