Help Screen brightness (too bright in the dark, too dim in the daylight)

Anyone else got an issue with the screen?

Its both not as bright and brighter than my old iPhone 3GS.

The Note2's brightest setting is not as bright as the iPhone and its dimmest setting is very bright compared.

Is there any way to get the screen dimmer?

...I have a simikar quibble with the sound.

........never happy huh! The Note2 is of course a position of relative and complete bliss compared to my old iPhone.

I sometimes use an app called Screen Filter to darken the screen (on other androids)

I use that app all the time now. Just found it a few weeks ago. I can watch TV shows in bed without annoying the gf trying to sleep. Or even myself trying to sleep with something on in the background. It should save battery too because of AMOLED.

I thought the screen seemed rather dim as well when I checked out the floor display yesterday evening at Sprint. I made sure to turn off auto brightness, and cranked it all the way up. It was a good screen don't get me wrong, it just didn't seem as bright or as vivid as the Evo 4G LTE or what is going to be coming in the next quarter or two with new full HD mobile displays.

:) I use it in bed too, when I don't want to disturb my wife while playing Wordfeud and checking out the news on Flipboard, the browser, etc. Even a dark screen emits a lot of light from the side. Wish technology would fix that. :)

My Galaxy nexus was like BLINDING even at half brightness i had to put it under 1/4. But the dimmer apps work well too or things like Tasker or JuiceDefender have built in options.

I'm finding it way too bright even turned all the way down. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to test it outside though; worked until it was dark.
