Help Screen broke! Replaced! Still not working! PLEASE HELP!

Ok, to make a long story short. My phone came out of my pocket into the inside of the recliner without my knowing it. I got to looking for it when I went to bed, and found inside the recliner. The front of the phone has a minor scratch on the left side of the display trim piece, but nothing else. The weird thing is, the display was cracked pretty bad inside.

The display would light up, etc, but the colors were messed up where it was busted.

I ordered a new screen from gadgetfix with the same part number that's suppose to be a factory replacement, installed it, and it doesn't work!

I reinstalled it several times to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but the screen just doesn't work on it.

My phone originally had an Amoled display, but the replacement screen I ordered was an OEM LCD with LED backlighting. Is this the problem?

The part numbers were the same, but it doesn't work. The phone turns on, buttons light up, and has sound, but nothing on the new display at all. Am I missing something?

I am beyond frustrated because I loved this phone and tried to take really good care of it, then something like this happens. My contract isn't up, and I can't go spend $500 right now at Christmas for a new one.

Please help, as any help is greatly appreciated!

Looking at the root threads, there are things that have to be done differently for SLCD screens, so I'm guessing it's the change in screen type that is causing your problem.
