Searched but cannot find an answer.do I need to replace the screen alone or do I need to replace the screen and digitizer.i can buy just the screen for $10 but the screen+digitizer is $150.ive seen others have asked similar questions on here and no replies.

Perhaps, like you, the other people who asked didn't make it clear as to exactly what was broken and so no-one was able to answer the question.

If when touching screen it still works then you might get away with just screen if its dead when touching screen you probably need both

Let me give you your two options.

1) yes you can just replace the top glass. Glass is cheap because there is no LCD attached with it. This is NOT an easy repair. It involves a lot of time and patience. You will need a heat gun to loosen up the glass from the phone and additional tool to carefully remove the glass and go from there. There are you tube video tutorials available on this specific repair.

2) yes you can buy the screen+LCD for $150. It cost more but it's actually easier than trying to replace just the glass. You will still need to have a heat gun or blow dryer to loosen up the adhesive on the phone. I would watch a professional youtube tutorial on this repair. This type of repair can be difficult and you can further damage your phone if you're not careful.
