Help screen digitizer dead spot

So I just recently replaced the screen digitizer because mine shattered, everything works except one strip across the top of the screen below the notification bar down to a little above the bottom of the address bar in the browser. Would anyone know what would cause a small area like this to be unresponsive could it be the connection from the ribbon cable or just a faulty product?

This is word-for-word exactly what happened to me. I landed here looking for a solution. Did you ever find one or am I going to have to live with it?

nope never found a solution, thinking about buying another one but then again i'll probably just live with it and use it in portrait mode
