Help Screen dims and sleep after making a call

Sometimes, after making a call and hanging up manually the screen dims immediately and then goes off. Anyone else noticed this?

Also, on previous versions, when you get an incoming call, the phone locks itself automatically and then screen goes off. It doesn't behave this way anymore which I preferred. Hope this is a bug.

isn't it the proximity sensor?

My OG Droid never did this. Its kinda annoying when you hang up and before you get a chance to think about what you want to do next, the phone dims and locks.
