Help Screen does not wake up on Note 2

I've had my note 2 for about a month or so, and last night the screen would not wake up. It happened again this morning. I had to remove the battery . That's going to get really old, really soon. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Is this something I need to go back to Verizon with?

Hello MrsMikeStony. That's a known issue with some Note 2 devices out in the wild. Enough to see it reported around various forums with no remedies confirmed (but many attempted ).

The "next update" has that and a few other things being awaited for a fix.

One of the most popular "tries" is to factory data reset. Back up first, of course.

Fwiw, I've never had that problem with my Note 2.

Just to make sure it isn't a third part app that is doing it I would try re-starting it in safe mode and leaving it in safe mode over night and see if it happens. If you don't have the problem for a couple of days it means it's something you downloaded that is causing the problem.

Hey,

I just had the same problem. A few times a day, my screen wouldn't come on until after a few tries, and sometimes not at all.
I went to my settings and looked at my running apps. Of all the apps there, there was only one that I had installed recently. I uninstalled it and the problem was solved.
The app in question was a pedometer app called 'Noom'.
If you don't have that app, look for something else that runs constantly.
