As I type, I have red and blue lines faintly flickering horizontally on my screen. Is there anyone else having a similar issue? If so, is there a fix, or should i just try to ride it out as long as possible?

I have not. Is there anything I need to do before hand. And by reset, you mean hold the power and volume down button, correct?

And will that unroot my phone?

Do a factory reset in clockwork recovery but make a backup first. You will not lose root. Alternatively just try a different rom. If those options don't fix it, you most likely have a hardware problem and you could replace your screen.
