Help Screen goes black after dialing

Jolthead

Lurker
Sometimes after dialing a number, the phone screen goes black and the audio cuts out. People have told me that it rings on the other end, but they can't hear anything after they answer, and I can't hear anything either. The only fix for this I've found is a reboot of the phone. Anybody have any ideas? Thnx.

I've had the same problem since I bought this darned phone. It happens about 1 out of 5 calls for me, but what I do is just wait........and wait........and don't even bother holding it up to your head....pull it down and wait. After 15 seconds or so, I see the regular screen (with call still in progress) and either say "hello? hello?" or hit End Call. :o

I've read elsewhere that Google Voice is one of the culprit apps that can cause this.

I'm having this same problem with my Samsung Fascinate, except that it's turned into every outgoing call. SO annoying. Can't find a fix anywhere.

What I found is either a screen protector or phone cover is doing it. I found that I had covered the sensors on the upper right corner of the phone (Bionic). (look closely and you will see tiny holes) This is the sensor to detect movement and your face. The screen goes blank when you have it near your face. Cover the sensor and it thinks it is by your face. Check and remove anything covering those holes.
