Help Screen goes off during calls

The screen is supposed to go off during calls to save battery i know!

But, say if i'm on the phone and something's said where i need to check my calendar, it's a bit a of a battle to use the screen as it keeps going off because it must reckon my hand is my cheek.

Is there a good technique to do what i want to do mid-convo?

To the left of teh HTC logo, close to the corner, is a sensor that senses if your face is close to it or not. That is what should be controlling your in call screen off.

I'm left handed and it's never been a problem. Hold it in my right and use the left to use the phone.

I'm right handed but always use my left for holding the phone. No issues here either
