Screen going blank sometimes, have to pull battery to get it back

Anyone else experience this?

All of a sudden, pushing a button will not pull up the lock screen. The buttons glow blue, but the screen is blank. Even if a call is received, screen stays blank. Is there some combination of buttons that will reboot?

I'm not sure it's a good idea to remove the battery every day or two, after a year that seems like it could mess up the contacts or something.

From what I can tell, the phone is still working, but the screen has somehow turned itself off.

The phone has been rooted, but it's got the original ROM.

I've had that happen a few times. Nothing I could do would allow the screen to be visible again, except pulling the battery like shigglyboo posted. I have rooted, but not changed ROM's. I believe the first time it happened was before I rooted though.
