Help Screen is beginning to black out

I dropped my phone about six months ago and the screen cracked, yes but it hadn't been an issue so I never replaced the screen.

Last night while charging, a black spot took over the screen so I restarted my phone and now the black spot is only getting worse!!

My phone still texts, receives calls, uses apps, etc.

Is there any way on my end to reverse this or at least prevent it from getting worse?

In all honesty, I think it's time to bring it in for repair. As with many broken things, it will only get worse as time goes on.
