Does it turn on while just sitting on a desk or table? Mine was having similar problems. I would turn off the phone by knock knock, then lets say i was going to lay it on a table and if my finger was touching the screen as i lay it on the table then it would turn in sometimes. I turned off the knock knock feature and the problem went away. I think it is a bug with the sensor or something.
Yes mostly when it's just laying on a hard service. I don't want to turn off knock knock because I like this feature, should be standard on all phones IMHO.

I like knock knock a lot to. Are you sure it is not turning on because you have incoming notifications? My phone turns on when i receive text messages.
Nope no incoming anything, just randomly turns on.

Can you still return it? Are you using a custom rom or stock?

I would seriously consider an exchange. These things don't usually go away. It could very well be a hardware problem. I honestly not sure if it is a setting you have turned on. I doubt it is though. It should not be doing that out of the box. I agree it must be really annoying though. Are you using a lock screen password? Try it with and without a password and see if it changes anything.

Weird. If you're not touching it at all it shouldn't happen.
Sometimes i turn it on by mistake but that's while touching it.
