Help Screen keeps dimming. Not on auto.

My screen dims, even though it is not set to auto dim. Sometimes it will be fine, other times it finds as soon as screen is turned on. I have to tap on the brightness setting to get the screen to be brighter again. Very frustrating. It seems like this last update caused a lot of little stupid things to go wrong with my phone.

Blocking mode still does not work. ALL notifications come through. Texts and all apps - even when app settings are adjusted. Only phone is blocked. I have the box checked to block notifications too.
 
A lot of stuff like that happens after a big update like Jellybean if you dont reset the phone after it. Wish Samsung had just pushed a message suggesting that people do a factory reset. The phone does daft niggly things like forgetting certain settings etc.. all u can do is back up what u can and reset to get rid of the left over bugs. Its a pain in the ass but once its done its done :thumbup:
 
Ouch. Sorry man. Yeah its a pain but your phone will probably be more healthy for it. Hmm i have no idea about the screen then. Ive read people talk about the Lux brightnes app. Maybe try that n see if it over rides the stock brightness
 
Thanks. It appears that the blocking mode is working correctly now though. Your reply did not set of a notification sound. Happy about that.
 
Is the brightness weird in all apps and browser? Check power saving options as the phone will dim the browser especially . Also in the browser settings you can change the brrightness
 
It dims as soon as I hit the power button to turn on the screen. However, I have found that if I hit the button again to turn the screen off then back on again. It fixes its self.
