Help screen lock app?

My phone has just been updated, and has a horrible ring pull from lower part of screen. But my screen is starting to fail down there and i want to change, please advise best/simple app...

You could try magic locker in the market. Be aware though, your battery won't last as long.

Preferrably one that doesn't adversely affcet battery life!

Also, why do those in market, tell you to go to
"System Setting" - "Location and security" - "Select device administrators" to Deactivate Easy Lock first, when in my version 2.3 of Android, I have two separate sections Location, which is nothing to do with this, and Security which doesn't have this option?!?

DON'T BELIEVE IT.....found this on another forum after another internet search:
"take out the battery and restart. problem solved "
and it works!!! screen touch working much better.
