Screen lock button issue?

My husband and I both got our D3s the same time. But we soon noticed that our screen lock keys feel different on each phone. Mine is quite easy to press and locks the phone with ease, but my husband's takes a bit more pressure to lock and he's not really okay with that.

Took it up to Verizon about it, just to see if that was 'normal', and the rep basically said, yeah and get over it. But we just don't get why there's such a big difference in our phones. Has anyone else noticed anything up with their lock buttons?

Mine only triggers from a dead-center push. If I hit it on either side, the button just "rocks" but doesn't trigger. Not really a big issue for me because I don't have problems triggering it, but I've wondered if some phones have more side-to-side play than others.
