Help Screen lock

So I have set up the display timeout to 30 sec, yet even when it goes off or I hit the power button to make the screen go black, it never asks me for my pattern (that I set up) when I press the power button again.

Any ideas?

what phone and version of android.. or custom rom
are you using??

your phone maybe the same as mine:
on my evo... with 2.2 ... warm z ROM

homescreen
menu
settings
security

first option "change screen lock"
you have to select a mode... "pattern" is what you want.

second option "lock phone after"
pick your setting that you desire.

Mine is the Nexus S 2.3!

After I draw the pattern, it gets me to do it again to confirm...but then it just takes me back to the main "location and security settings" screen!

ok... after you have put your phone to sleep... for 30 mins.
and rewake it. does it then ask for your pattern?

At the moment I have the display thing down to 30 sec from 30 min -- and after 30 sec it does not ask for anything. :\

display thing is different. put it into sleep.. leave it for at least 30 min...

then wake it.. see if it will ask for the pattern then

or...

turn the phone completely off.. and then turn it on..
does it ask for your lock pattern then?

Nope. Other than display sleep, I cannot seem to find any setting about lock time!
