Screen Never On, Phone Working Otherwise

Hi all,

I've run in to my first issue with the V since owning it (not including nubtacular root problems).

The other night, I was fooling around on the phone, tweaking settings in Swiftkey, when sudden the screen went black. Pressed lock/power button, nothing. Pulled battery, turned back on, nothing.

The phone is working otherwise, as far as I can tell. The capacitative buttons at the bottom are still toggling a vibration, the phone still turns on and off, and I'm still receiving texts and the like (indicated by flashing LED and vibrate).

Some basic research indicates that this is an issue with some sort of flex cable involved with the screen/LED.

I'm torn between attempting a fix, and just buying a new phone. Has anyone else had this issue? Tried to fix it?

Is your phone less than one year old? If so, I would call VM (or email the Virgin Angels) and ask for a replacement.

Nope...I got it when it had just come out on VM.

Attempted to replace the LCD and digitizer. No dice. I've since bought the Optimus F3.

Dang, I was going to say the digitizer because this sounds just like other people with a bad digitizer...

I guess it doesn't matter much as you have a new device, but it sounds like the digitizer/LCD to me...
