Screen not coming on!

Just a few minutes ago after ending a phone call I went to hang the call up and the screen didn't come on. Well I just figured pop the battery out and it should work just fine. I can turn the phone on and go through the settings, but the SD card doesn't read and if I press the stand by button the phone doesn't turn back on. I can hear texts or calls coming in but I can't do anything. Any ideas?
 
Turns out the 2 problems were related. For some reason the SD card would be checked for errors and that message never went away. I took it out and BAM, problem fixed. But I suggest everyone backs their SD card up so there's no mess of you losing all your photos.
