Help Screen not lighting up during call?

I've had my Optimus for a little over four months and just today it started a new problem. Whenever I'm using the phone for a call, and I pull the phone away from my ear or hit a button, the screen usually lights up. However, now it doesn't which means I can't hang up or use any options on the phone, whether I hit the buttons or pull it away. Meaning I can't check my voicemail or send texts, ANYTHING during AND after a call. Any ideas?

I have the same problem wit my lg optimus m... what u did was somehow damage/break the light sensor on your phone causing this problem.. if your waranty is still working then try to switch out your phone at metropcs with another of the same phone.. I would do it with my phome bit I got mine off craigslist and it came like this.. if you rooted your phone then you voided your phone waranty.. of thays your case then you can hold your phone up to a lightbulb that's turned on and the screen should turn on.. it wont work if you use one of those swirly lightbulbs

Also you can assign your power button to end calls. in settings, accessibility check the box that corresponds. hope that helps. `_`
