Help Screen not resposive during charging (PLEASE HELP)

Hello,
I just recieved my HTC Rezound(s) I bought one for myself and one for my wife. The phone seems great and so does the ICS OS. However, my only issue with the phone right now is that I cannot use the darn thing while it's charging. I can hit the power button and see the lock screen but cannot unlock the phone. The screen does nothing. The same thing happens when I disconnect the phone from the charger. I have to hit tap the power button off then back on to get the screen to respond. I have already looked throught HTC site for help and have found nothing. I also just completed a factory reset. No results there either. Is this normal or is it something that can be fixed? If anyone can help me with this issue I'd be greatly appreciative.
 
I had this happen when my battery went completely dead. You may have to let it charge for a while and then try it again.
 
JF138, is your charger the official charger that came with the Rezound?

Last week or so I tried a different non-htc rezound charger and it wouldn't let em unlock the lock screen. However my official charger did fine.
 
If your charger is messed up, the capacitive touch screen won't work. I think it has something to do with grounding. This happened to me when my Rezound was almost brand new and I connected it to an aftermarket charger. Also, depending on what I was sitting on, it would either work or not.
 
No it isn't the original charger as I purchased the phone used from an eBay store. But your explaination sounds pretty logical so my next step is to get. My hands on a Resound charger.

At least get the HTC rezound plug that connects the micro usb into it. I have the small plug and a 3rd party micro usb cable and while charging I am able to use the phone.
 
Original HTC Flyer DC500 12pin Extmicro USB Sync Data Cable Charger | eBay

This is the correct type charging cord. It is from the HTC Flyer Tablet. If you search for a Rezound charger you only get the universal plug. The rezound is very specific, as far as the correct one. You can use the universal, which Im guessing you are, it just doesn't fit as well. And in your case perform as well.

I have this exact same white cable and it works perfect.

If you search (HTC Flyer charging) Amazon/Ebay there are wall chargers as well.
