Screen-ons fixed with 3.1 update?

Curious if one of the only issues, but big (IMO) with the A500 has been fixed with the update. Screen-ons got so bad for me, had to press power to get it to go off. Two with same issue, back in May.

I have seen a post mentioning wifi is weaker with the update, but considering the A500 already had issues with low signals, seems a LOT more people would be mentioning now, if correct.

I haven't noticed anymore random screen-ons since the update. Thia includes on battery power and plugged in. I also haven't noticed much degradtion with wifi.

Under Settings/Applications/Battery Use ... you click the Xh Xm Xs on battery bar and you get a really nice graph of what's using battery when.

I unplugged my tablet almost 5 hours ago and haven't turned on the screen at all ... though the tablet is on and asleep.

It shows many, many time periods of "Wi Fi" and "Awake". Looks like seconds, really.

The only instance where it indicated "Screen On" was just now when I woke it up to check it out.

I think it was those "Many" times of Wi Fi activity that was causing the screen to wake up before?

I don't know what's causing the "awake" times ... maybe just changes in Wi Fi network activity? Maybe gmail notifications? Looking for gmail notifications? I don't have a clue.

I have noticed that my battery life seems extended. No scientific proof here ... just a gut instinct after using it pretty heavily and being surprised that it still had 1/2 battery when I expected it to have been drained. I was turning the tablet off when I wouldn't be using it for a few hours because the battery would drain so fast. Today I'm leaving it on to see how much is left at the end of the day.

Yay 3.1!

Thanks! Still trying to decide again:

1. A500 solid build and with USB host luv
2. Transformer with IPS panel luv, but no connectivity unless you get the KB
3. Thrive with same host luv, but also SDXC card luv too, but probably 70% the battery life, due to smaller battery. Yes it can be replaced, but $100 a pop.
