Screen Orientation Issues

I started having an issue with screen orientation, especially when texting. I like texting in landscape mode because the keyboard on the screen feels more like a real keyboard. But when I turn the phone sideways, the screen does not do anything. Then after about 6 tries or so, it finally does it. Same thing happens when I view the internet and other apps.

Is there a certain way to do it for the phone to know you switched or what?

It only switches if you turn the screen counterclockwise.

I believe the buttons have to be on the right hand side when the phone is turned horizontally for it to go into landscape mode.

Yeah that is how I always turn it. It started to become a problem here in the last few days. It will end up switching, but it takes like 6 times to do it.

If this keeps happening, take it back. There have been a few reports of issues. A few Heros had same problem.
