Wait a second, you mean there's another one below the one that's a pain to peel off, or are you counting the plastic sticker that comes on it that has a tab for removal? Everyone is supposed to remove the sticker with a tab for easy removal when you take it right out of the box.

Help Screen Protector on already

Yeah. Look closely at the edge of the screen and you should see the factory protector. I carefully lifted the edge with a razor blade and slowly pulled it off. It definitely helped with sensitivity. The only difference I noticed is that grease on the phone seems to be more obvious, but that may be my own obsession.
The glass is gorilla glass so I'm not worried about scratches. I assume the plastic was there for anti-glare or anti-grease purposes.

You're saying that little beveled edge between the "Motorola" and the edge between the inside wall of the speaker and the first corner it makes towards the text is another removable protector?

There's just the one with the tab and then the pain in the butt one. Under that is gorilla glass... My friend even took a screwdriver to it and it didnt scratch it...

No, that looks like (and 'pain in the butt' sounds like) it is off. The spot you show in particular is a good place to see the edge of the second one, if it was there.
Ah, reading your post again I see you said pain in the butt the first time. You knew about it already

And I have heard that, but most people agree that it's not to prevent from radiation. I'll try and find out exactly why it's there... Maybe Corning's site has something about it.

My friend took a screwdriver to my screen and was trying to scratch it running it over and over with the tip and not a single scratch was made so I'm sure it's fine lol.

There is one person that says it and I can't find any other mention of it on any other phone with gorilla glass. Also I'm pretty sure that people with the OG Droid don't have radiation poisoning so I may go out on a limb and just say that it's BS. I mean if anyone knows for sure post a link please. This is just my opinion so noone take offense. Also it from the research that I have done the MT is the only gorilla glass phone that has a screen protector on it, so maybe it's some gimmick by VM to make us think it needs it or something? I don't know for sure.
I removed mine the second day I had the phone when I first got the phone last July. The funny thing is that the replacement phone that I received last month did NOT have that second screen protector on it. I wonder if they realized that they didn't need it on the phone or people complained about it, since removing the protector made a huge improvement in screen clarity ad touchscreen responsiveness.
no you just got a refurbished one where the previous owner removed it
I considered that as well, but I figured that if it were factory refurbed that they would make it as if you had just taken it brand new out of the box, even if it wasn't brand new.
i dont think they know about the screen portector though...
also, they would only do stuff to the screen if its damaged.

This is the answer I was wondering since I got my phone. I tried gorilla grass before and took a sharp knife on the Zune HD which also has gorilla grass and no scratch. This has totally convince me to remove the second protector. Okay here I go.. -grabs a thumb tact-

Hah, I was a little confused when I was scrolling through threads and saw my own username as the creator of some new thread on the first page. Thought my screen had a scratch/blemish on it, but turns out it was the stock screen protector. Much thanks to everyone for a new screen and Gorilla Glass!

I just removed the screen protector today. The phone is much better without it on there. I just used my fingernail as to not scratch it. The screen protector was easiest to get under it and get it started near the ear speaker. Couldn't believe how thick it was, no wonder the screen was unresponsive.

Wow you two, I just got rid of it just now. And believe me it is much better losing the protector (thats what she said). I notice a slight increase of saturation and brightness, as well response, no hiccups yet
