screen protector?

one1speed

Newbie
When I grabbed my phone today, the sales person recommended a kit that includes 3 screen protectors, car charger, and a case/holster combo. Tried the case, but its crazy big, huge space behind the phone, almost like its made for a giant battery. Awful.

Then, I put a screen protector on. It says anti glare, but wow, horrible! Seems to defeat the purpose of the amazing screen. Really frustrating.

Any recommended screen protectors that are basically invisible? Thx in advance.

I am interested in this as well. With no smartphone experience I figured I would just be careful with it for now so i didn't really need a screen protector. MAN was I wrong. After just a few minutes of me playing with the phone carefully it still looked like I left the phone near a toddler who just got through eating barbaque and decided to finger pait on my phones screen.

I tried putting a screen protector on my Thunderbolt and even the antiglare ones didn't help with the screen. I figured I'd just get a hardshell holster that would cover the screen when it's in place. No use having a slick snappy phone if you have problems with the screen because the screen protector inhibits the touch sensitivity. I went through 5 different screen protectors before I just gave up on them.

I recommend Invisible Shield. Unfortunately, they do not have one ready yet for the Rezound. They are worth the price. I will be getting one as soon as they are available. Until then, I will throw on a cheap $.30 ebay one.

Steinhill Crystal Clear. You don't even know it's on the phone. It's very slick for swiping.

I had an Invisible Shield on my Inc1 and it had more of a rubbery feel to it. Not as easy to swipe with it, and it was more expensive than the Steinhills. Invisible Shield was around $20-25 each, Steinhills were $12-15 for two.

See SGPStore.com for the Steinhills, they have crystal clear, anti-fingerprint, & antiglare versions.

+1. I had a crystal clear on my Inc. When I accidentally damaged the screen protector (long story), I decided not to get another since I was ready to upgrade to a new phone, so I've had it nakey and with the crystal clear. I actually prefer the crystal clear to the screen itself. I feel like the screen itself gets greasy and dirty immediately, while the crystal clear tended to cut down on the smudge factor. It didn't get in the way of the touch screen, either. It looked like there wasn't a protector on at all, IMO.

+1 for Steinheil

Unfortunately they do not have one for the Rezound yet. I emailed them today but have yet to receive a response on when they will have them available on the website.

I highly recommend XO Skins, I use it on my droid and tab 10.1. I posted a review for it on my tab as well.

Never used one for my DINC (had it for 2 years)... I keep it in my pocket with nothing else, but have thrown it a bag a few times with other things.

My experience with screen protectors is that they take away from the phone's appearance so the pros out weight the cons.

Most of these screens are made of harden/reinforced glass so they're pretty durable in their own right.

I would say that unless you're carrying around your phone with your keys or a bag of nails, you'll be OK w/o a screen protector.

That's my take, screen protectors on a phone are like going to an old Italian woman's house where she has a plastic cover on the sofa.

I got a cheap screen protector on Ebay believe I got 6 for like $4 or something . I can't even tell its on the screen it did take me 3 to get it on properly but hey that's why I got a 6pack

I ordered a similar one for the rezound yesterday so I'll have to go a day or two without it , can't wait for FedEx to show up today

I never used one on my incredible for nearly 2 years and had no problems. Its kinda like anti virus. If your smart and careful you really won't need one.

same.

i'm even a ****** and dropped mine at work the other day, almost flipped shit at what an idiot i was (slid off the counter, 4 foot drop on to hard wood floor when i was trying to push the power button) and not a single ding, crack, or scratch on the screen!! and i didn't even hvae my TPU case on yet!! i was about to hang myself. hahaha

seriously considering going without a screen protector... I'm getting used to how pretty the screen is... definitely going for a case though i think

^^ This..

They asked me tonight if i wanted any and I said no.

Well I was planning on getting an otterbox case to protect the phone just in case I decide to return it for the Nexus.

Its up in the air if I will return it or not...

kept it in jeans pocket at school today and it almost looked like a scratch on screen... i almost cried, lol. Think I will be testing some screenies out now :o

These phones are too big for jean pockets. You tend to bend at the waist and unless you wear your pants hanging off your butt like they do in the hood, that bend at the waist will spell certain doom to your phone. Not just that, but if you keep loose change or keys in the same pocket, that will also pose a risk to your phone. The only reason I decided to go with a holster is sometimes I'll forget that my phone is in my pocket, and I go to sit down and I can feel the pocket tighten up a bit and I know I'm putting undue pressure on my phone. With a holster if I sit down the phone just sits outside.

I called HTC today and they said it does not have gorilla glass.

Correct, although based on what I've heard Gorilla glass can still break and HTC's glass is pretty comparable in strength to that of Gorilla glass. It's just a marketing name, like "Beats".

did you have anything in your pocket with it? i keep all my phones in my front pocket by themselves and have never had an issue.

I thought about getting the otter box as well but i hate to add all of that bulk.

I went naked for the last 8 months of my DX use and had no issues at all really. ...minus one tiny little scratch on the frame but that was from my own stupidity.

No pants hanging down thank you, :). But it fits in my pocket just fins, also I baby my phones and am ALWAYS aware of them in my pocket, not used to not having a case though

NO!!!!! lol
Never put my phone in same pocket as anything else! :)
Nothing at all, the screen wiped off fine, though it did take a little more elbow grease than usual to get the screen all beautified again:)

Really want to see a seidio case hit the market... SOON! plus i want my Steinhill CC darnit!
