Screen protector

Ever put ur screen protector on, and that one damn piece of lint gets on the sticky side and u don't wanna take ur protector off cuz u know u will mess up the next one.

Sorry it was a random topic

I have one microscopic lint bubble and one bubble in the top corner that won't flatten. Both of them make me ill.

I usually buy several at a time, then sacrifice one to pull lint off before I stick on the final cover.

Also, make sure your air conditioner has been off for at least 15 minutes before you try, otherwise there can be dust floating around.

Every screen protector I put on has no bubbles because I use my debit card and apply the protector at the same time slowly.

I had 5 lol...
I used three
1 cut to skinny
2nd put on slightly crooked and lifted and accidentally touched the sticky part, left a finger print
3rd one tiny piece if lint, but is cut and laid perfect covering the entire screen including buttons

I always use my lint rag thingy that also gets all the grease n stuff off.

I bought a pack of three protectors for my current phone, and used two of them trying to get it right. The problem with the cloth is that sometimes it just pushes more dust/lint around on your screen. I have one tiny bubble in the bottom corner, where a piece of dust got stuck, and then this one squiggly piece of lint that is mocking me to no end. It's almost impossible to get it perfect.

I usually put two or three drops of water on the screen after cleaning it.
It becomes easier to put the screen protector and it gets rid of any lint. With a credit card push the water and air bubbles to the sides and you are good to go :D

The only thing you need to be careful with is not to push the water towards the speaker.

Edit: this is very similar to how I do it.

Has anyone seen the smudge proof invisishield on this phone yet? I have a fingerprint pet peeve, but the reviews @ BestBuy.com say it makes glare worse, and makes the screen too dingy.

I personally think that Zagg's are the worst out of all the wet application protectors out there, wicked orange peel and they stay very soft which makes for a crappy feel. I'm currently using Stealth Shieldz, you can get 2 for $5 off of ebay and they fit perfectly . They're so inexpensive because you make your own solution with dish washing liquid so they can send them in an envelope and save big time on postage. I've also had very good luck with Armor Suit protectors when I had the Triumph, they're about $10 on Amazon.

I second the vote against Zagg... Look at the "features", they say "extra grip". That's fine for a keyboard, but for Swype and similar slide keyboards, it's horrible.

And yes, they self heal, but they also show damage far more easier, so it's a good thing they self heal. I don't think it protects much, if any better than the cheap ones on Ebay, which happen to work FAR better for sliding.

The orange peel effect isn't great, I'll admit. But buying the HD shields is a pretty easy fix for that. We have them installed on all of our demo phones at work, and I personally like the feel of them.

I've decided to go with an ArmorSuit though. They're a hell of a lot cheaper than Zagg shields and apparently they're nice and clear. They're also highly rated on Amazon.

I still love my 3 for $2 off Ebay. LOL
Slippery, cheap, and they work. I buy 4-6 at a time and if one gets messed up or mess it up putting it on, it doesn't matter. I usually get a year+ put of those even after losses during install.

To be honest I bought an otterbox commuter (which is a shitty case, it's too loose) but the screen protector that came with it is good for me. There is either dust or grease that left a bubble on the right edge but my case covers it so no worries on that.

I don't understand the need/want for screen protectors; this glass doesn't seem to scratch easily and we don't use a stylus...what am I missing?

For me, anyway, it's partly a way to ensure that the screen stays in 100 percent perfect condition. I usually sell my phones when I'm done with them and/or want a new one, and the screen looks brand new when you take a protector off. I also like it for myself, since I'm ridiculous and obsessive about not having scratches or marks on my electronics. Which leads me to greasy marks and fingerprints. I find it shows less and is much easier to quickly wipe off over a screen protector.

^ this

I use my shirt or whatever rag nearby and god forbid it has something on it that it might scratch the screen

I just left the overlay that comes on the phone to protect the screen on. I trimmed the little part that protruded over the speaker with an Xacto knife, and it works just fine. No bubbles or lint.

I TRY to scratch my glass in the top corner, not in a viewing area. Since I failed on my last 3 phones and never have anything in the pocket I have my phone in, I started going commando.

All 3 phones have still looked perfect once I'm done with them after a bit of glass cleaner. Even my Triumph, which was dropped glass-down on a white rock road once. Good enough for me to not sacrifice clarity and feel for the sake of a bit of protection that seems useless in my experiments and experience.
