Screen Protector

Does anyone have any Screen Protector advice?

I was looking at ZAGG because I used that on my phone.

I decided I'm not even going to use one. I have it in a Moko case and I just use my t-shirt to wipe fingerprints off the screen. :D It seems pretty durable. I think I saw someone here say they used ZAGG and liked it.
 
I would love to not use one b/c I love the glass feeling... but I'm kind of paranoid lol... $29 for some peace of mind.

Do you really think it's safe not to use one?

I have only used a screen protection on one of my devices, my current GNex and it is a Zagg. I have had the OG Droid, Droid X, Droid Incredible, Moto Xoom, Note 10.1 and Nexus 10. I am very careful with my devices and like Atmazzz, I am using the Moko case on my Nex10. Zagg makes a great product and it is worth the money, especially if it gives you the piece of mind. The main reason I do not use one on my Note is because of the stylus, but if you are not using one it is not a concern.
 
The best protector I've ever used was the Steinheil Crystal Clear series. Don't know if they make one in Nexus 10 variety.

As for now, I'm ashamed to say I haven't taken off the factory screen protector. I still have that little tab hanging off on the top right corner. I won't remove it until I find something better to replace it with.

I put a Zagg on my Galaxy Nexus and hate it. Too much orange peel.

LOL! Me too! I still have it on there. My Wife keeps making fun of me lol :D

I think I am going to order the Zagg one today. I don't like doing it myself so I take them to a local retailer who installs them for $6. The worst part is you have to wait to use the device lol

lol .. I did the same for about 2 weeks I think until I got my case.

I got a ZAGG one for Christmas, and installed it myself that night. I was kind of worried because initially it looked like there were streaks/bubbles underneath. I thought I was going to have to pull it off and re-do. But by the next morning it was perfect. There is one small spot where a fleck of dust got under it, but that's it. It works great.

And, I was exactly like you... kept the factory screen cover on it until I could replace it with something. Haha. Now we just need to see some smartcovers in the Play store already!!

I used an exacto knife to remove the tab. I will never be able to apply a screen protector as good as the factory, so this one will stay on as long as possible.
 
I still have the factory protector, got mine for Christmas too, might order the zagg, hoping they have it locally somewhere though.
 
I got the i-Blason HD anti-glare and really love it. I have zero problem viewing my N10 while it is lying on my lap, lights on and all.
 
I put the skinomi on a few minutes ago. Watched the video on their web site and it took all of 5 minutes to do it. it is a wet install so they recommend you let it dry for 12 to 24 hours. I will let it lay until tomorrow after work and break out the Fire in the mean time.

I have had smartphones, Tablets and eBook readers for quite some time now. I never used a protector and never scratched or did any damage to a screen. And my method of cleaning was rubbing it glass over my sleeve.

This was given to me as a gift so I will give it a try. If it effects the sensitivity or looks bad, it is coming off

I will let you know in a few days how I like it.
 
BTW, if anyone is scared to do the Wet Install, Best Buy will do them for $6. I'm terrified to do it myself, so I have them do it.

Not real happy with the result. There were small bubbles that were not there when I was finished last night. So I pealed it up and sprayed it again and put it back down. This time I squeegeed the crap out of it. So, If I still have issues with it tomorrow, it goes in the trash.
 
I'm extremely careful with my devices as well but i have always put a protector on them. In my experience Zagg tends to feel plasticy ... I use BSE(Best Skins ever) they are a wet install skin but take it from me they are pretty damn easy ;) .... I can put one on in about 5 min. after they cure for a few days (if there are any tiny bubbles left they usually disappear) you wont even know you have it on there. It does take a bit of practice to get them perfect. Just dont over squeegy them, and make sure the top has some solution on it so you can squeeg with lube.

I pretty much followed the instructions to the tee, but probably screwed up somewhere. I redid it last night and still see bubbles today. Maybe I should have waited more that 24 hours the first time.
But I really don't want a skin anyway, it was given to me. I will see how this plays out.
 
I also kept the factory cover on until I got my Skinomi in the mail.

I bought the Skinomi TechSkin from Amazon for $7. I usually have big problems installing these wet skins, but I had no issues with this one. I do admit it requires some patience during and after installation. I let my sit for 48 hours after installation before use. I considered it easy to install, has no glare, and I can hardly tell it's there.
 
Ive found that you cant use too much between the skin and device when applying the BSE.... but also you dont want to drown it. Enough so that you can slide it into place and then wet the top and gently rub out the bubbles(they say with a credit card but i find something like a stiff piece of cardboard is better and keeps it from doing the orange peel thing). You WILL NOT get all the bubbles i promise you but make sure to get what you can, dont leave big bubbles and dont push down very hard. Most if not all the bubbles will go away. Sometimes it takes 3-4 days. Also when you first put it on it doesnt feel very smooth, that too will get super slick once it "sets".
 
I guess my issue was waiting only 24 hours before I redid it. So I will give the redo a few more days and see what happens. The bubbles that are there, do not show up when the screen is on.
