Accessories Screen protectors really necessary?

Assuming you keep your phone away from keys and coins what is the advantage of having one? I thought Inspire came with gorilla glass?
 
while i'm not sure if the inspire has gorilla glass, most people use screen protectors just to be on the safe side and keep their $100+ dollar investment safe. if you're clumsy or forgetful like i am a screen protector saves your butt. lol

all depends on placement. once i had my keys in my pocket and slid my phone (no screen protector) in my pocket and the keys scratched the screen pretty bad.. like i said i'm very unlucky with phones. lol
 
I took a "generic" screen protector, and trimmed it to fit my inspire. I probably didn't need to, but I had the screen protectors already, and figured it couldn't hurt anything.. My phone is in my pocket all day, and who knows what I throw in that pocket!
 
Does anyone know if Verizon carries the regular screen protectors instead of the anti glare protectors? I looked on their website and they don't show both.
 
HTC Inspire does have Gorilla glass. I don't even use a case. My phone's only scratches are from falls, and only on the sides of the aluminum body.
 
Dont buy the protectors from carrier stores, buy them from amazon or ebay. Carriers charge way more then its worth.

Yep, carrier stores, Best Buy, etc will charge a lot more than it's worth. Get your case and screen protectors from Amazon or Ebay.

My inspire screen scratches pretty easily. They aren't very deep, but under a lot of sunlight the glare will catch on them and will prevent me from seeing whatever is on the screen. I have a cheepo screen protector that cost me $5 off Amazon. It's one of the permanent ones, so no need to replace until it get's really scratched.
