Screen protectors

So I got one of them mirror screen protectors, I was wondering if any of you have experienced a slight loss of response from your screen as a result of screen protectors or if it's just material it's made from.

I've had that problem with screen protectors on all of my phones, after a day or two it seems to clear up for me

Any screen protector will affect the your screens responsiveness. As for it 'clearing up', it's more likely that you've adjusted your interaction to compensate for the change unconsciously.

As for the mirrored screen protector, it may be a heavier material than a typical clear screen protector.

There was no compensation on my part, a good example is using swype, I'm able to swype faster now than I was just after applying a screen protector. A new screen protector had almost a "sticky" feeling to the surface, which goes away after a day or two. I am not the only person to experience this. It is something documented pretty regularly on screen protector reviews.

I wasn't talking about any kind of stickiness. I was referring to the extra layer of material impeding sensitivity. As for what you're talking about, I get that intermittently even without a screen protector depending on what's on your fingers or the screen at the time. Temperature, humidity, even your hydration can increase or decrease the friction between your finger and the screen.

I find whatever this material is, it does stay slippery enough for me to swipe with wet or dry fingers, what I don't like is the thickness, that it's a smudge magnet, I can't see my screen under the sun and loss of response, I have to really put my finger on the screen now instead of gently swiping over it. I got my new case today too! Usually I don't use cases or screen protectors but someone bought me this phone as a gift and I don't want to break it so soon, but the mirror effect and the case look awesome on this phone. I'll try and take a picture when I can.

there's also armorsuit and they told me that they'll be coming out with a volt one soon (as of a few days ago) however I think they're probably the same texture

i just use what ever ebay has at the time around 5 for $2.00.... no difference in the touch or feel and they usually last for 6 months or more since i am careful with my phone

I actually cut my own protector from a sheet of polyurethane purchased from bestskinsever, but since they will never actually support non flagship products again I would suggest my fallback at xtremeguard.

I have purchased a number of their skins (they have %80 and %90 off sales a lot, like right NOW) for tablets and phones and they have worked out quite well. I have bad experience is skinomi, a tablet skin and it's replacement both exhibited visual defects.

I have one of those privacy screen protectors; it is a THICK screen protector and ruins the hell out of the screen. I have to try multiple times just to unlock my phone from the swipe screen. Then again, I had just replaced the phone's digitizer as well (I dropped it just a week after owning it and it smashed the glass :(. )

I just bought a new one off ebay for $7.50 that is made out of real tempered glass ill repost how good it works when I receive it in the mail.... they say it does not bend so its cant get air bubbles trapped when installing it.....and it should shatter before your screen breaks

Sounds like the worst kind of screen protector. protectors are for scratches and nick, not protecting against shattering. It is likely to get more scratched up then the real screen.

Polyurethane, just stick with it.

there are a few makers out right now that make gorilla glass screen protectors but the cheaper phones are not listed but these list for $30+ ..... there is a chick on you tube that demos these protectors and they look really promising, from all of her drop tests the phone screen never cracked only the protectors any time you add strength to the screen it becomes stronger and since the first layer will break it reduces the impact to the phones screen, they claim a hardness value of 8-9 and are about .4mm thick.... and no matter what they are more scratch resistant than a layer of plastic film

Just got it in the mail it was under $8 total and was real easy to use and no air trapped it flexes just enough to not break and the touch response is awesome, feels smooth and does a great job repelling finger prints..... now to see how long it holds up to scratches.... the cheap plastic film gets scuffed up pretty easy after 1 month being very careful

the card is funny because it is full of typos and broken english so it seams like a great product and makes for some funny reading!

here is the ebay link

I still think this is like the biggest snake oil grab yet. ^^

Tempered glass skins is like putting a weak glass over your phones good glass. Fine sure your protecting the original glass from scratches, but the skins is going to come away with even more scratches. Also the whole protection against shattering is the worlds biggest joke. #1 MOST shattering is due to pressure applied through the side of the phones plastic and along the edge of the glass. The glass will actually flex more front to back because it is thin and there is air on both sides. Pressure from the sides have no where to go thus cracking the screen. #2 People who drop their phone and find the protector shattered but not the screen are failing to realize the fall wasn't severe enough to crack their gorilla glass, but was enough to break the flimsier tempered glass.

polyurethane is just better in all aspects except it feels rubbery. It absorbs some shock along the surface, is very resistant to scrapes and cuts, and has a self healing property where if anything does break the surface, it will solidify back up. I have applied urethane based protectors on many devices for the past 6 years and all of them except one still has the original skin applied. (The Zen vision:M had rounded corners which made it susceptible to peeling. )

1 week in and not a single scratch on the screen protector..... this is an awesome idea.... even with how careful I am with a phone the plastic film would scratch if I rubbed it with the wrong cloth... also not a single blemish from the install this thing almost put its self on... I am one of those people always trying to debunk snake oil products and this is not one of them... just search on ebay for tempered glass screen protector ls740 there are only a couple stores so the price is higher than the flagship phones.... $8 vs $2 volt vs note3

I've used screen protectors on every touch screen device I've ever owned and have never had a problem with the screen not being responsive
