Help Screen replacement Sony or Samsung

[kelixaleir]

Trying to buy a replacement screen for my sisters htc desire and there seems to be 2 screens we can buy:
*Sony
*Samsung

The manufacturer code for it is 99hkz009-00

Does anyone know which screen is the right one for my version?

What version is you HTC desire?. have you taken out the broken LCD??

I expect the Samsung is the AMOLED used in early models, the Sony the LCD used from about July-August 2010. So if you know when it was made that might answer it.

I think most North American carriers never had the AMOLED.

Basically anything you can tell us about the phone will help.

Done a bit of searching, and I don't think the number you quote will tell us more than that it's a Desire, but the serial number would let us work out when it was made.

If it was made later than about May/June 2010 it's going to be the Sony you need (I bought mine late June 2010 and it was one of the last AMOLED models in the UK).
