Help screen rotation problem

I can confirm this is just a simple software issue thats easily fix by installing ultimate rotation from the market. I've been using it for 3 days. Works like a charm and as if the phone never had the issue. I kinda figured it wasn't a hardware issue because apps that are landscape only like games still rotate even if the bug is currently active. Maybe someone will include this into future roms.

So only an application from the Google Play market will keep the rotation working? I've suddenly come across that my phone, at random times, will no longer rotate, even though I had not tampered with any of the settings.

This seems to have no pattern, except after sometime the phone is left online, without a restart or a power off cycle, rotation stops working, with no reason as to why it should.

I haven't flashed any ROMs yet due to the fear of losing 4G, still on a stock.

Hi, I was having same problem. I called tech support, and while that took eons, I did get someone who could help. I have the ZTE Unico LTE. My screen stopped rotating all of a sudden, too. Go to Settings, then under System heading, go to Accessibility, and see if the Auto rotate screen is checked. Mine was not. Once I checked it, the screen has been rotating just fine. HTH

For my S5 Active, I dropped it about 3 feet. It hit a surface that is hard, but had some give. One of the directions of the orientation sensor was stuck after that. I rebooted, no luck. I waved in a figure 8, no luck. I hit it lightly on the desk, no luck.

I shut it down, waited 60 seconds, and then booted it back up. It worked after that. I can see the orientation sensor is perfect now.
