Help Screen Saver? WTF?

Just got an upgrade from my Nexus to an S3, loaded it up with apps, and not sure which is causing the problem but apparently the S3 (VZW) goes into some strange sort of screen-saver mode, where purple and/or blue square pixels appear (in the top left corner of the screen) after the device times out and the screen fades after, say, 30 seconds or a minute. Not sure which app that's causing the issue -- could be Apex, could be JuiceDefender, could be a number of another 400 apps I've installed. No clue and it's sort of irritating. Don't need the screen to blip but this is really confusing and sort of irritating. Looked all over the place for info to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the assistance...and my sanity ;-)

Have you looked under developer options to see if anything may be checked? That is the only thing I could think of. If there isn't anything there I say defect and take it back. Good luck!

400 apps? Serious? That's going to take some time to work through a logical troubleshooting process. If you have Titanium Backup installed in that group you might try freezing small herds of those apps at a time to see if you can isolate it.

And I thought I had alot of apps with 80:) but 400?
j/k :) ...but as trucky said, it may take a while to narrow down what app, if any, is causing that.
Or as Rdjr said, check under dev. settings to make sure no boxes are checked.

LOL I might have exaggerated a wee bit -- 271 applications (and counting). Unfortunately a lot of legacy apps from way back when :-)

Thanks for the replies all -- the Developer Options menu didn't solve the problem but I didn't check anything there recently and the problem just started appearing. I think it's NoLed that is the culprit (it's designed to be a battery saver) but I'm not sure how/why it suddenly became an issue (it's been installed for a few days so why is it just appearing to be a problem?).

The thing is, I have a spare battery with the Samsung charger and I swapped out my battery this AM so I rebooted the phone for the first time in a few days. So maybe NoLed or another rogue app decided to enable itself.

I did a lot of researching and am still unsure what's causing it but I'm guessing I'll wind up deleting some of the extraneous apps (eg NoLed) and go from there. Was hoping someone's seen this before. I sure as poop haven't ;-)

Thanks again.

Incidentally, I disabled NoLed and the problem hasn't recurred. Yet. One quick guess as to what app is about to removed from my S3 ;-)

Thanks again :-)
