Help Screen shutting off randomly

My phone has learned a new trick - the screen has started shutting off randomly in the middle of me using it. It doesn't happen all the time, and it seems to happen in 'bunches' where it will go for a few hours without doing it, then it will do it about 5 or 6 times in a row. I also haven't really been able to establish a pattern of what im doing when it happens. Sometimes its web browsing, playing games, texting, or changing settings. Its started in the past couple days and happened enough times now where i figured it warranted a post. I get that its a new phone and still has a few bugs, but has this been happening to anyone else? Anyone have any ideas?
 
So apparently this isn't happening to anyone else, but just in case...

I've tried playing with a few different things, and this seems to be happening only when the battery is low - 20% or less. It has not happened yet with a full battery (I think). I'll keep seeing if I can figure out what's going on. If anyone experiences anything similar please do share
 
Ok this is really starting to bug me. Its happening now with 90% battery.

Anyone with any ideas of what could be causing this?
 
Sounds like you may have a loose internal connection from the main board to the screen. I'd just exchange it.

I didn't even think of that. I don't remember turning it on, but this was enabled. I turned it off and hopefully that will take care of things. It's just weird because the phone has been perfectly upright in normal position when it happened.

I hope this isn't the case. I've finally been getting the phone tweaked and set up just the way i like it... I guess I'll see in a few days
 
My phone will drop calls twice now. The service is pretty clear, so don't think it's because of that, but it'll go into sleep mode and I have to hit the power key to bring it back. Not sure why
 
Please keep us posted. I just got the D3 three days ago. I've notice that the screen will shut off by itself in the middle of use. I turned off the pocket lock the first day that I've had it and since then the issue continues.
 
I also wonder if you guys have faulty proximity sensors that are meant to shut the screen off when you put the phone up to your ear. Make sure that area at the top of the screen isn't smudged or obstructed.

this hasn't happened for two days now. i think it was the pocket lock. since i've turned the pocket lock off two days ago the screen has yet to shut off on its own during use. i also cleaned off the top of the phone by the sensors, so it could have been either. now knock on wood that this continues.

it just seems weird that the phone was in complete upright normal position when the screen was turning off by itself.
