Help Screen stops responding

The touchscreen on my Thunderbolt stops responding intermittently. The phone is not plugged in when this happens. It happened in Google Talk, I would be typing and then even though I continued typing letters they would not appear on the screen. Other times in the browser I can't scroll by swiping. Anyone have these issues? I can clear it up by locking then unlocking by pressing the power button.

Don't know if it's related, but if I swipe a lot, e.g. scrolling in gallery, then the phone becomes sluggish and eventually stops responding all together. I have to reboot to fix it.
