Help Screen temporarily freezes

So I got my Note 3 about a week ago and already it is randomly freezing up on me.

There doesn't seem to be any particular program or pattern to why this is happening. I'm not rooted & none of the apps I've DL'd are anything special.

I'll be using an app such as texting or perhaps just browsing the internet and all the sudden the screen will be unresponsive to any touch input. It will usually start working again within 10 to 15 seconds. Sometimes however I have had to turn the phone on & off to get it working again.

So at this point I'm considering returning the phone. I'm still within the 14 day return window. Overall this is frustrating, because I really do enjoy using this phone and I'd like to keep it.

Return it for a warranty exchange. That's not normal for the Note 3, and I push mine pretty hard.

Indeed. Your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should be buttery smooth like the video below. Companies as big as the major phone manufacturers such as Samsung or LG etc carry out substantial testing to ensure reliability issues are minimal and for the large majority there are no issues but sometimes there may be some issues with faulty hardware components.

Putting your phone in Safe Mode may also help determine if any of the applications you have installed are causing the problem.

The website below details the Safe Mode procedure for the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, although the procedure may work if your phone is on another network.
