Help Screen

Quick question. is it a bad thing to have a plain Colour for a wallpaper (red) or will it Leave burn marks like having a plain blue wallpaper ?

It will eventually "burn in", but by that time you probably won't care - the hone will be too old to be worth anything.

I had nice Christmas wallpaper. I couldn't find anything for St.Paddy's Day, so my "wallpaper" is a blank 1920X1080 "picture" "painted" a nice Irish green. Maybe I'll do some Adroid Eggs for Easter.

Unless you have live wallpaper, any pattern you put on the screen will burn in - even the icons for your apps. But would you really care about a 10 year old phone? (And my 11 year old V551 still has no real burn-in, although it used to be on about 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the same screen, for about 5 years.)

black background can also have a burn in affect..
I don't think there is much you can do about burn-in. the notification bar and dock at bottom will have that issue most. but it will take a long time before it becomes an issue.. so I would not worry about it.

live wallpaper... how much battery it really consume?
it only affects battery.. when the phone is awake and you are staring at the homescreens. how often do you just look at the homescreens and for how long??
my guess.. it may be only 1-3% difference of the battery daily charge.

Ah it's just annoying so then it's best to either have a live wallpaper or keep changing

are u OCD??

do you think.. using a flat color wallpaper will give you burn-in.. within a few weeks? it takes years. how long do you plan to keep the phone?

how fast do you think the live wallpaper (LWP) eat the battery?
how long to you look at the homescreen? hours? or is just a few minutes a day? how much is that in power .. compared to a plain wallpaper?
this is NOTHGING in power usage. if at the end of day, you still have 30% left. with Live wallpaper you might end with 28%.
did that change the number of times it is on the charger???

it really is a non-issue. just enjoy the phone.
I love LWP.. "inferno Galaxy" is my current favorite!
and at the end of the day.. 16hrs.. I still have almost 50%.

I've got a htc desire - original....you remeber the one that barely had enough memory to power on lol

no burn in on that! Its about 6 yrs old. I wouldnt worry.

doesn't the Desire have LCD screen?

the issue is that AMOLED have a tendency to get burn-in.
the sumsung screens are AMOLED.. because they make them.

I have had several samsung galaxy phones too and my s2 is 4 yrs old and n2 well over a year. The phone will be knackered before the screen - is the point Im making :).

DAN: Thank you for your help with this and no I'm not OCD I just paid a lot of money for the note 3 and don't want a horrible mark on the screen after a few months of using it :)
