"Screenis Envy" No More!

My brother just got a Galaxy S II (he's on at&t) and I have to tell you all that despite its oddities, I'm now convinced the PenTile display of the MoPho CRUSHES the SAMOLED+ display on that phone. The GSII screen has a horrible (to my eye...) blue-green tint that gets progressively worse when viewed anything but straight on. That phone can't even come close to making anything even remotely resembling white. It's not nearly as readable in bright environments. Colors have a "fluorescent" look that is tiring (again, to my eyes...) after a while. The whole thing also has a slightly "soft focus" look... ASSuMEing the Sprint E4GT is anything similar (I know it's a different panel, as it's ~.2" larger, diagonally), I don't see how the two could be compared objectively--it the real world, PenTile FTW for me! It does all the things I mentioned well (much better than the SAMOLED+) and has respectable color on all but the brightest backlight levels (which I consider a fair trade-off for the usability gained).

I know it's all subjective, but there's my $.02... I'm with the Photon until a suitable CDMA+LTE device (Nexus Prime) drops.

I also agree. Saw a GS2 yesterday. Nice phone, but screen not impressive, in fact the owner was oogling MY screen when i turnes it up to full brightness under intense mid day sun, and he could see it like it was midnight. I didnt notice the tint as much, but prolly because it looked pretty dim in the direct light.

SGII's screen is what I'd call vibrant or vivid. Pretty slick but has it's flaws (not entirely realistic and not the best in bright sunlight) while the Photon definitely has problems rendering yellows that don't come off slightly greenish.

If you consider the screens a wash (purely opinion on which you prefer), hard to not at least consider the Photon as it's received multiple updates (I'm skeptical on Samsung doing this), has a pretty strong radio in it, world phone, dedicated camera button (granted the SGII's lens is rated better), kickstand, has zumocast, and great hardware add-ons.

Each day I'm reminded what a great phone it is which is a far cry from my prior android phones.
