screenshot question

I was wondering how to take a screenshot on the samsung galaxy s ii skyrocket. i ready to push the home button and the lock button together, but that doesnt work... My phone is not rooted and do not want to root it, as i have heard bad things about rooting it.

Press and hold power and home button together not a tap PRESS AND HOLD TOGETHER for a few seconds and it'll take a screenshot...
