Galaxy s3, ice cream sandwich. I want a screenshot, read I'm supposed to press down-volume and on-off simultaneously and hold them. I've tried over a dozen times now, and always get some version of the device options popup and lowering my volume. Is there some trick to it or something? I'd rather not install an app since this is supposed to do it.

Yes, that is the way to do it. I too have trouble with coordinating my two fingers to do this.

One trick is I am more successful when the case is not on. And it just takes practice to get it down.

It should be power and home at the same time. Unless the method between ics and jb is different.

Power and volume down is JB. (I skipped ICS.)

Oh, it's always been power and home for me, vol down and power does nothing for me

Power and home for Samsung devices, regardless of whether its ICS or JB. Its a touchwiz thing.

Makes sense (but not in an HTC sort of way).

I'm stock Android JB on a Galaxy Nexus. Sorry for any confusion.
