Help Scroll arrows on key pad

I like the stock texting app but I saw something in a demo phone in the store that I can not seem to duplicate. The phone in store had scroll arrows on the top of the keypad when texting a message. The arrows I am talking about are left arrow, right arrow, up, and down arrow. Anyone have any ideas on how to get these things on my keypad???

Are you sure it was a stock keyboard? Many alternative keyboards have this feature.

The phone in the store was likely using the Swype keyboard which has those arrows. I love swype!
