SD card damaged error

My wife and I both have LG Vortexes. I came home from work this morning and she said her phone wouldn't pull up her pictures. I rebooted the phone and it will now show her downloaded photos but not the ones taken by the phone.

So, I took the cards out of both phones and swapped them.

My phone with her card still only showed the downloaded pics. So, I thought it was an issue with the card.

Her phone with my card said that there was an error with the card and it wouldn't show any photos at all. This suggests to me that there's an issue with the phone.

I don't have a card reader for this size card. I was thinking that just trying the wife's card in a card reader would give me a better clue as to what's going on. Am I right about this?

Where do you think the issue is? The phone or the card?

If you mount the phone as an external drive on your PC, does it read the card/contents?

There's a PC app called H2Testw which should test the card to see if it's corrupt/damaged etc, which should let you know either way if it's a card/phone issue.

Also, is there a file called .nomeda anywhere on the card?

I was able to mount the phone on a Mac at home. Checked the camera folder on the phone and the only images present are those that the wife took since the issue reared its head.

I'll bring my work laptop (Windows) home and try the other suggestions when I get a chance.

Thanks!
