Help SD Card Error - Completely Gone? Help...

Not exactly sure what happened here but. I got a triangle! notification about unseating the SD card prior to removing and the next thing i know everything on the card is gone...

I didnt remove the card nor did I have the option to unseat it...

Now when I do take it out everything that was on the card is gone.... I can take pics and save stuff to it again but seriously what happened to all my stuff and can I get it back?

Thanks all

When you say "now when I take it out" are you referring to removing it from the phone and inserting it into a PC?

i am sorry.

when i said that i was referring to removing the SD card from the phone. i am not talking about using the phone as a usb drive to retreive the data.

my SD card was not removed from phone at all. and now all my pics, vids, etc that were saved to the card are all gone (per the phone).

since then i took the SD card out of the phone and put it back in but the phone still doesnt find any of the old data on the card...

If you can with usb or directly plugging it into pc back it up and then reformat it with pc.
I had to do that the other day.
Just make sure you back up anything that you can.
I also had a lot of apps on the sd card.
to reinstall them go to the market and click the menu and then My Apps.
the apps that were on the card will show there but will show that they need to be installed. You can then go through and reinstall any from there.

Something similar happened to me. The phone kept telling me the card was unmounted. I couldn't read it from a PC either (either by USB or inserting it into a reader).

I was able to reformat the card and use it... but I didn't trust it and just bought another.

I regularly make backups of my SD card. Roughly every couple of weeks.

Same thing happened to me. My computers wouldn't recognize the card and I was pretty much shit out of luck for backing it up. Luckily, I was able to use dropbox to move my important files one file at a time, which sucked, but was better than nothing. I then reformatted my SD card and haven't had a problem since.

The only problem I get now is if I were to update to Google Maps 5.0 and use it, a notification pops up saying that my SD card is in read-only mode. I told Verizon about this, and they didn't believe me. In fact, they took my phone and did a factory reset without my permission and after I explicitly told them that I didn't want to do it since I just spent hours getting my apps and settings back to how I want. And it didn't even fix the problem, and they didn't give me a new SD card. So they will be getting an email from me...

My advice would be to reformat and not update to the latest edition of Google Maps.

I have just lost my second SD card. Lost in that is seems to have quit working. The phone stopped seeing the SD card. I removed the cards and tried the card reader for my computer and same thing... the computer doesnt see the card. This last card only lasted 3 weeks. Was a PNY 16 gig class 4 card. Are there any known issues with the Incredible eating cards? I am a little gun shy on buying another 16 gig card.
