SD card failed

My phone indicated that the SD card was damaged. I had to re-format.
I lost all my data and music I downloaded from Amazon. I have been able to use the SD card after formatting but am concerned that it may crap out again. I am going to try to get a new one from Verizon, however it may be better to buy a new one from a 3rd party.
Has anyone had this problem? What is your suggestion?

Never had a microsd card (20 of them) ever faild. It must not been installed correctlly. I would just get the replacement from Verizon cause they use the best memory cards in the business (Sandisk).
