SD Card, few questions

Dear all,
newbies question:
1. My desire comes with 4gb micro SD card, however, it has already filled with unknown file for about 2gb. what are those? can I delete it?
2. If I want to change my sd card to a higher memory, can I just copy everything i have on my sd card to the new one?

fyi, I haven't rooted my phone yet.. try as hell to avoid the temptation..

Some stuff like htc sync and a manual come on the SD I believe.

Yes, you can copy over to PC then copy back onto new card. make sure your PC is set to show hidden files though

just found out that the biggest folder is the Navigon folder, I guess that's for the google maps. 1.9gb
