Root SD card issues... not my strong point

So every now and then for the past couple weeks or so any apps that I have moved to the SD card have been disappearing. Usually, I can mount and unmount the SD card, or reboot, or both, and they will reappear. However, this morning they have disappeared and I am unable to get them back. As a related problem, lately my phone has had a difficult time mounting as a disk drive - my computer will never recognize the sd card. This morning, that does not seem to be a problem at all, it is just the app thing that is bothering me.

I am not very familiar with sd cards and so I am not sure what to do with this one. My guess is that something is getting messed up with my sd card and I will probably need to get a new one... any thoughts?

Sounds like you might need to either replace your sd card or try formatting it...

But before you format copy the contents of the sd card to your computer so that you can copy them back after

Thanks. I figured as much... I guess I will try formatting it first and see if anything changes. Are SD cards covered in warranty?

Thats a question i would like answered as well. Recently i had Sd card problems but they seemed to have cleared up when i formatted my card. I figure if the sd card is not covered then its a good excuse to upgrade to a higher capacity card

I have 296 previous pictures on my sd card, i have taken atleast 60 more awesome pictures just to receive an error that says something in reference to an Sd card error...once this error pops up my pictures are either erased or reduced to just thumbnails with a question mark...I downloaded a few programs also that use the sd card and I have paid for some and now I can't use them because of the sd card issue...I have been across the WWW and have found no solutions....HELP!
