Ok so ive had my phone for about 2 months now so it randomly said removed sd card so i took out the back cover and looked at the port for the sd card and the prongs were messed up.Is there any way to fix this would warrenty cover this Btw ive never dropped it

Are you sure?? The prongs looked funny on mine, but they are designed to look that way. They are not straight.

First thing when I got my phone a couple of months ago was go to Best Buy and use part of Christmas gift card to buy a bigger SD card (16GB). The default 2GB is not much. Check some prices and get another one.

Just randomly, here's a selection of online and brick & mortar prices:

All I'm saying is this is a good chance to upgrade. ;) You don't really want that stock 2GB chip anyway.

If you want to search for your own prices, search for "MicroSD card". If they give a "class" rating, 4 or higher is very good but any will do.

Yes im sure like one of them is seems to appear sideways and really short

That is actually how it is supposed to look. There is nothing wrong with the phone. The included card is CHEAP!!! I had the exact same problem. Then I put in a Sandisk card I already had and it works just fine now.

This is exactly what mine looks like. If yours looks like this, then it's OK. But if the pins are twisted then maybe you have a bad card. Still, my earlier advice stands -- this is chance to upgrade to higher capacity card.

The OP is talking about the card slot, not the card itself. The first time I saw the port I thought something was wrong as well. None of my other phones have had such a twisted pattern of prongs. I asked them and they said it is normal. Also, I got a replacement phone on Thursday and it looks exactly the same.

I agree that you should upgrade the size and also to a better brand. The generic card with the camera is not worth $3. Mine is corrupted and kept givign me the exact same problems. I picked up a Kingston 8GB Class 4 from Buy.com for $15 including three different adapters. Like ChazzMatt said, the class is another thing to look at. Many of the cheaper cards are only Class 2. I don't know if the phone can take advantage of the faster card, but I would be very surprised if it couldn't. Files will also transfer faster from the computer.

Oh, my bad. I read too fast. For some reason I thought he was talking about the card itself. Yeah, the slot prongs/pins on the phone are a strange design. But my wife's identical Optimus M has the exact same design as mine.

As for class, when I was researching the issue for a relative last summer I found reference that Class 4 or higher MicroSDHC is recommended for video playback for video cameras. Maybe for our phone that doesn't matter, but something to consider.
