Can anyone please help me? My sd card started reading "mounted read only when I tried to start moving apps to sd. I have pulled the sd card and battery and it will "prepare the sd" then go about ten seconds it will go back to read only. PLEASE HELP!!!

I would look at the permissions when your sdcard is connected to your pc, i would also backup all your files and format the card and try again

I got this a few days ago. If your using a Mac, you might be in luck! I just used the disk repair on it when I connected it to my computer. If you reboot the phone and plug it into your computer as soon as it boots up, you can get it to connect, but it took me a few tries. If you can at least get it hooked up to the computer you can copy everything from your SD to you comp.

If your on a PC (I can't verify any of this works, just what I've read) people have had luck formatting the sd car through the computer, and again once it's back in the phone.

I think I unmounted the phone from the computer and forgot to switch the connection on the phone before I unplugged it. Not sure if thats what caused it or not? Good luck. A google search will give you quite a bit of information if none of this works.

So I just got the thunderbolt and had this same problem happen to me, I tried repair disk using my mac as mentioned above but that didn't work. In the repair disk dialogue it said that /zedge has entries after end of directory, so I found the zedge folder on the sd card and deleted it and then everything was fine! Hope that helps some of you.

Hmmm, I use zedge a lot and every once in awhile my sd card switches to 'read only', very random. Maybe I will try deleting zedge and its folder

What file manager are you using? If you're using something like Root Explorer, you'll first have to mount as R/W (button on top when at the root of your sd card). Once you've done that, long press the file you wish to move, choose "permissions" and you'll see 3 rows and 3 columns, the rows will read: "user", "group", and "others". The 3 columns will read: "read", "write", and "execute". Under "user", check "write" and "execute" and this should fix your problem.

OR

You can just use Estrongs File Manager that already gives you those permissions as is :p.

EDIT: By the looks of the other responses written, sounds like we may be talking about 2 different things lol! I've been up since 5 am and need my cup of coffee :D.
