SD Card question.... HELP

artex101

Newbie
i am running fresh1.1/G-kernel/setcpu. anted to format my sd card so i went into setting/sd card and phone storage/and clicked format.
now the phone says in the notification area that i have a blank sd card ??
what steps should i take?

oh no- go ahead- im an idiot. i know. noob. i wanted to get rid of all the stuff on there and now i need to put a copy of nandroid backup on it to get myself rolling again....

Then you should be good to go, simply go into the recovery and take a backup. If you formatted it through the phone it should be fine

How about if you put it in the phone, and connect the phone to the PC? If you mount it, you should be able to format it there

ok i think i got it. if i partition it from recovery. what should i set the values to be (tried doing a quick search but came up empty) i just did it with stting the values to 512 and 512 and it shows that i have 908MB free on it. is there a different value i can use to have more space for "personal" use yet still leave enough for the apps?

edit: its the stock 2GB card btw

heck to the yes!!!!!! :) sorry to bug ya with one more question. so if i do a nandroid restore now to the point of just after rooting like instructed in the rooting tutorial, i can go ahead and follow instruction as far as ROMs just as if i just rooted??

Yup, it's fairly simple from here on out, put the update zip on the base of you SD card an flash away!

This forum is for asking questions, happy to help
