Root SD card question

Hello all,
Well, I kept running out of space of the SD card that came with the phone. So I got two Lexar 8GB one for each of my phones. Both rooted with CM7 BACKside rom. Every so often the 8GB card "Unexpectedly Removes" itself, sometimes remounts itself too. The other phone does not do that, nor did the old card. Are some cards not compatible with the phone or would it be a bad card? Or any Apps known to cause issues when they are on sd card. I used Link2SD to move most apps to the card. Thanks

Try swapping the cards between the phones. If the same card gives you the same problem in the second phone, then you'll know it's a bad card.

Thanks, thought of doing that but, won't that tranfer contacts and stuff to the other phone? Maybe not.

I moved most of the apps off the card, like Facebook, Weather Channel, and some others. I will test that to see if that helps. Some apps give a warning before you move them with Link2SD, some don't. Maybe that has something to do with it. It worked fine till shortly after doing that.

No app can do that without asking for root permission first as only a root can mount/unmount a card, so I suspect a bad or flaky card...may just need to be reformatted. As the previous poster suggest, since you have 2 phones that would be your best way to test the card.

I have been testing it with no apps on sd card since my last post and it has not mounted or unmounted by itself since then. gonna try putting one at a time back on to see which app is causing it.
EDIT- Maybe mount/unmount is the wrong statement. Notification bar says "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" I think thats different.
